Grooming Your Dog, Tools, Tips, and Tricks Grooming your dog is not an easy task because the type of hair the dog has, the style that you wish, and how your pet acts when being groomed should all be considered. Before you begin dog grooming, preparation is essential. This will be something you need a couple of hours to do if you are a beginner so consider the time allowed. Of all tools you will need, the most important is a good quality clipper. Simply not working as what you get with human hair clippers are plastic guards. Helpful when brushing out tangles and mats and are great for long-haired dogs are pin brushes. For flexibility, be sure they have a rubber base on the pins as it is easier for you and more comfortable for your dog. A slicker brush is great for finishing your dog grooming session, giving your dog a great look. Use a comb for the use on the face of your dog, making it an absolutely necessary tool to have. Whereas Hair dryer is good for drying long-haired dogs, be sure to use a low warm setting as not to burn your dog. Before giving them a bath, fully brush your dog. Bathing will be easier by doing this and your pet’s hair and skin will feel and look great when using proper shampoos and conditioners. I have found that the use of conditioner is so helpful when brushing your dog during the drying process, the hair dries faster and is easier to brush. The shampoo you use should also be considered because many dogs are sensitive to the harsh chemicals in pet shampoos. All natural, oatmeal based, or hypoallergenic shampoos are the best to use.
Overwhelmed by the Complexity of Dogs? This May Help
Extremely difficult is grooming underside of the dog, inside of legs and arms, and grooming the sanitary areas. This task can be done with ease if you get an assistant who can hold the dog in the air.

Understand that for you and your pet, this is a stressful situation. You will inevitably need to do a lot of clipping and touch up work to get the look you are trying to achieve since it is important to not go fast and cut or injure your dog. Just remember that with time, patience, proper tools, and a little help from a friend of family member even though dog grooming is a tough job it can be so much easier and less stressful for you and your pet with these things in mind. I would love to hear the experiences you have had and how you managed to groom your dog.
